Good morning, kind humans! I hope your week is off to a good start. Today was an amusing morning for me, Jacey, and Marley. Did you know that human stomachs make a great launching pad when we are chasing each other around early in the morning? And they are fun to use as landing spots, too! Fortunately for the human, it was Jacey that did that to him, because she is much lighter than me.
I do not know what the human is upset about, because he did not even have a bruise on his stomach! He was not happy with Jacey, though.
After the human recovered, went back to sleep, and then got up, he took my blood sugar reading and then gave me my insulin shot.
My blood sugar readings this week were clustered in a much more tight range than they were last week. The average for the week was 236. This is higher than last week, when it was 219. The average is still below the 250 that we worry about exceeding, so it is not too bad.
The low reading for the week was 196, and the high for the week was 271, which happened twice. This is a much tighter cluster of readings that we have seen in the past. The human and I are hopeful that we can get my blood sugar readings to stay in a tighter cluster but to drop a little.
One thing that may have elevated my blood sugar this week is that it has been warmer than is comfortable. I enjoy working on my fur tan, but I do not like it when it is too hot. Hot weather makes things more challenging for diabetic cats like me.
It is expected to cool down this week, and I hope that this will allow me to get my blood sugar readings down.
