Hello, kind humans! I got a surprise yesterday when the human gave me my noms, blood sugar check, and insulin shot earlier than I expected in the morning. I asked him about this and he said that you humans turn the clock forward an hour around this time of year. He could not explain to me why you would mess with the clocks. I am not sure he knows!
Whether the clock is an hour ahead or not, it is time for me to tell you about my blood sugar readings for the week that ended on March 8.
I am very happy with what happened, my furiends. For the week, we finally got my blood sugar levels to drop below the 200 threshold the human and I have been shooting for ever since I was diagnosed as a diabetic cat!
This week, my blood sugar levels averaged 197. That is down from the 237 they averaged last week. The high reading for the week was higher than we liked, when it hit 393. But that is because it was a rebound from a point where my blood sugar level was too low for the human to want to give me an insulin injection. That reading of 48 was the low for the week.
I am happy because we are seeing many more blood sugar readings where both the human and I are comfortable with them, in the 100s. That is a good level to be at because when they are there, I do not have to worry about either hypoglycemia or about how over time, my blood sugar levels will cause problems.
I am hopeful that I can keep my blood sugar readings at this level or that I can get them to drop a little lower. But the good news is that I am doing much better. I think the efforts of the human are finally getting the results both he and I want.
