Good morning, kind humans. It is time for me to tell you about my blood sugar readings for the week that just ended. I am happy right now because I was able to get onto the balcony to enjoy the sun. It is always good to work on my fur tan. Koji joined me out there a few times, but Jacey still stays in her safe space.
Speaking of Jacey’s safe space, Koji will go into it from time to time. But when he does, it is not as bad as it used to be. He will talk when he walks in, giving friendly meows to let Jacey know he is coming. Jacey does not mind until he gets too close. Then she will yell at him.
When Jacey yells at Koji, the human comes running over to make sure everything is okay. He often tells Koji to go, and he will leave. Sometimes, Koji requires a little push to do this, but he always leaves.
Jacey is also getting more brave. Instead of hiding in the tub, she will come out and sit on the bath mat. She also hops on top of the shower door and relaxes there, even when Koji comes to investigate the room.
The relative calm that has resulted from this seems to have had a good effect on my blood sugar readings. For the week, my blood sugar readings averaged 188. That is a lot lower than the 214 that they averaged last week.
And the human is continuing to give me three units of insulin. This lower does seems to be doing a good job of controlling my blood sugar levels.
I am hopeful that Jacey will continue to get more brave and hopefully come back out of the bathroom. Then I will be able to play with her again, which may make my blood sugar readings even better!
