Good morning, kind humans. The human said tomorrow is a holiday that is celebrated with fireworks around here. Jacey, Koji and I do not mind fireworks, but some felines and canines do not. We will laugh at the human if he goes and drinks those funny smelling things that make him more clumsy before he enjoys the fireworks.
We are glad the human was around all week this week. Koji wondered what happened to the human and got nervous. He was nice to the human who gave us noms, scooped our litter box, and gave me insulin. But he did not say a single thing to them. Koji is not the chatterbox that Jacey is, but he does like to talk to the human. And so do I. For us to be silent was very unusual.
Now that the human is here, though, we are back to talking. Sometimes, the human wishes we did not talk so much! And Koji is back to his rambunctious self. Sometimes, I wish he would calm down a little!
But you are wondering what happened with my blood sugar readings. For the week, they averaged 229. That is higher than the 208 that we saw last week. It is also higher than where we like to see things. The human worries that my blood sugar levels may go to a point where they can cause problems over the long term.
I reassured the human to ease his frustration. I reminded him that when he was away, I only got one insulin shot a day because the human taking care of me could not come by in the evening. And I told him that I trusted him. I know he will work hard to make sure my blood sugar levels do not get out of control.
But I gave the human a swat anyway. He needs a swat from time to time to make sure he stays in line! I will tell you about my blood sugar readings next week. Hopefully, they will be lower!
