Hello, everyone. It is time for me to tell you about my blood sugar readings for the week. You remember that the human reduced my insulin dose. He hopes that this will prevent my blood sugar levels from dropping to dangerously low levels. But he also knows that it may mean my blood sugar levels go higher than we want.
So we are facing a difficult balancing situation. But felines like me are known for having good balance. Let’s hope that the human is able to take some of that feline balance and apply it to my insulin dose.
For the week, my blood sugar levels averaged 191. That is a lot higher than the 149 we saw the week before. And this week, we had a couple of readings that were lower than we wanted. The human was annoyed by this. But then he remembered that it takes a few weeks for insulin dosing to play out. And he decided to stick with it for a bit longer.
Even with the higher number, my blood sugar readings are not high enough to cause any problems long term. That makes the human feel better. But he does not like the low readings I had. The whole point of reducing my insulin dose was to prevent those.
For now, the human decided he will continue to give me the same doses of insulin. We will see if that helps get my blood sugar levels under control without them dropping too low.
Furiends, the human does not like this and neither do I. But this is something we need to get right. And both the human and I will do what we need to so that happens. It is easier for me, of course. I simply endure the needle sticks. The human does all the work.
I will tell you how things are going next week. Until then, paws crossed!
