Hello, furiends. It is time for me to tell you about my blood sugar readings. I understand that my furiends in Canada celebrated yesterday, and soon, humans here will celebrate Independence Day. Furiends, when you celebrate, remember, we felines often do not like the loud noises that fireworks bring.
Please remember to keep your felines, and canines if you have them, inside when there are fireworks. Many animals go missing when there are fireworks. We get scared and run away. Keeping us inside prevents this from happening.
Another thing you can do is to get your four legged furiends microchipped. Many animal welfare organizations offer free microchips for felines and canines. When we are chipped, a quick scan helps return us to our humans.
It is very quick and easy, furiends. Just a quick injection, and we are all set. I did not even notice when it was done to me and the human was very proud that I was not “very fractious.”
Now, on to my blood sugar readings. For the week, they averaged 161. This is down a little from last week, when they averaged 169. But these blood sugar levels are all good. They are not so low that they are dangerous. And they are not so high that they can cause problems over the long term.
There was one time where my blood sugar levels fell below a point where the human will give me insulin. But even that reading was not so low that it would be considered hypoglycemic. And as soon as the human gave me insulin again, my blood sugar levels returned to good levels.
I will tell you about my blood sugar readings again next Monday. Furiends, I hope they will be good again!
