October 14 Blood Sugar Readings

Hello, furiends. It is time for me to tell you about my blood sugar readings for the week. You’ll remember that the human and I were worried a few weeks ago because my blood sugar levels were higher than we wanted. But then, my blood sugar readings went back to where we like them to be.

Well, this week, that continued. For the week, my blood sugar readings averaged 161. That is pretty much the same as they averaged the week before. And it is exactly what they averaged two weeks ago. That is a strange coincidence, furiends!

The human got worried one morning, when my blood sugar levels dropped to a point where I was slightly hypoglycemic. He did not give me any insulin that morning. I nommed a lot, and my glucose jumped very high that evening. But then we got it back under control.

That was not the only exciting thing that happened around here in the past week. We had a thunderstorm, furiends. I remember many of them when I lived with the human on the other side of the country. But Koji did not live with us then — he wasn’t even born yet! We listened to the rain hitting the window and the thunder. And we thought it was entertaining.

The human also finally got rid of the couch that we had in our home and replaced it. Furiends, it was funny to see the human struggling to move the couch. He bumped his hand on things a few times, and he was not happy. But eventually, he and another human were able to get the old couch out and a new one in.

Koji and I spent a lot of time sniffing the new couch, but we eventually decided we liked it. And we will make sure it smells like us.

Well, furiends, that is all for now. I will tell you about my blood sugar readings next week.

March 25 Blood Sugar Readings

Jacey in the Exam Room

Hello, furiends. It is time for me to talk to you about my blood sugar levels. But before I do that, I will tell you about the day where the human and Jacey both went to the white coated humans.

The human goes to the white coated humans once every six months to get his teeth cleaned. Jacey, Koji and I do not. We do not get our teeth cleaned until they are dirty, and only Jacey needed to have that done.

But the human and Jacey went to get their teeth cleaned on the same day. Jacey went in first. She did not like the ride over to the white coated humans, furiends. She complained the whole way over. And the human tried to calm her down, but she did not listen. Once she got to the white coated humans, she was able to get pets from the human. And then they went into the cat room and Jacey hopped right out of the carrier and went to her favorite spot in the room.

Then the white coated humans started the procedure to clean Jacey’s teeth. They told the human they would let him know how things were going, and he left.

The human’s turn came later that day. His procedure took a lot less time, and he was home in time to relax and have fun with me and Koji. Afterwards, he went to pick up Jacey.

Jacey went home with directions to not allow her to run, jump, or climb for 24 hours. Furiends, Jacey is a nice cat, but she ignored those directions. She was running around and jumping and climbing on things almost immediately! And she let the human hear it about having to spend all day at the white coated humans. But now she has nice clean teeth. I hope I do not need that procedure because it does not sound fun.

Now, on to my blood sugar readings. For the week, they averaged 120, which is about the same as the week before. During that week, my blood sugar readings averaged 122. I am glad my glucose levels are nice and low. These levels are a little higher than normal, but they are still safe.

Hopefully this all means the human and I have things under control!

February 5 Blood Sugar Readings

Koji the Sink Cat

Hello, furiends. It is time for me to tell you about my blood sugar readings. I hope you have had a good week! I definitely have. The human is happy because he sees me doing silly and fun things like chasing my own tail.

And in the morning, right before the talking box starts to speak, I will hop up on the ┬ábed next to the human and start to purr. He says that he has two alarm clocks — a purring furry one and one that talks.

Koji and I are getting along a lot better now. Oh, he still chases me when I do not want to play, and it annoys me. So I swat him, and then he stops. But I will rub noses with him when he gets back from his visits to The Cat Cafe.

And he is such a goof. For some reason, he likes to relax in the sink. The human did not know where he was the other day and went looking all over the house for him. He was surprised when he found Koji in the bathroom sink!t

Koji and I shared a good laugh about this. The silly human was worried that Koji had escaped. And for once, Koji was quiet enough to keep the human in suspense!

Speaking of suspense, I will not keep you in suspense any more about my blood sugar readings. For the week, my blood sugar levels averaged 170. That is down significantly from last week’s reading of 206. Both of these readings are acceptable.

I am hopeful this means that my blood sugar levels are finally under control. This means that the human will not have to worry as much about them. And that means he will be happier and I can play with him a little more! But he should not think that he can annoy me, because if he does, he will get a swat!
